Powerco customers in Tauranga north may experience disruptions to their controlled hot water supply, a spokesperson said on Wednesday.
“And they may notice sections of streetlights not working at night or on during the daytime as our crews work to repair a fault,” said the spokesperson.
Powerco advises these disruptions may last multiple days until repairs can be completed.
“Affected customers have been notified by text message and our major updates page has been updated.”
A Tauranga resident contacted SunLive on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a message from the power provider.
“Our text from Powerco said the disruptions to our hot water supply is following a fault at their Greerton injection plant today,” the Tauranga resident said. “And also, that it could last multiple days until they can get it fixed.”
“The affected plant is in Greerton and that plant supplies the Tauranga north area,” a Powerco spokesperson said.
“Powerco understands this may be frustrating and thanks customers for their patience while this work is carried out.”
