Papamoa and Maungatapu residents will need to put their rubbish and recycling out for collection this Saturday as there will be no rubbish, recycling or green waste collection on Christmas Day in these areas.

A Tauranga City Council spokesperson says there will also be a kerbside rubbish collection in these areas on Saturday, December 29, instead of on New Year's Day.

Normal collection will resume from Tuesday, January 8.

If people miss the bag collection they can take their rubbish bags directly to the transfer stations on any day except Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

There is no charge for conforming rubbish bags.
