A car has hit a house in Pāpāmoa this afternoon, sparking evacuations following a gas leak.
Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash on Matemuri Drive at 1.15pm.
“A vehicle struck a house but thankfully the driver suffered only minor injuries and is being treated by an ambulance crew,” said police.
People are advised to avoid the scene.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager Lauren Sik said they have two fire crews in attendance.
She said there is reports of a gas leak and evacuations of the surrounding area have been carried out.
“Protection in place with a covering low pressure delivery at this stage.
“In attendance with police and ambulance and gas authority.”
