A winning First Division ticket has been sold in Tauranga, capping off a successful night for Bay of Plenty Lotto players.

Four players from Whangārei, Auckland and Tauranga each won $250,000 in last night’s live draw.

The winning Tauranga ticket was sold at Woolworths Fraser Cove.

Powerball was not struck and has rolled over to Saturday night, where the jackpot will be $33 million.

Meanwhile, two Tauranga Lotto players are celebrating a windfall after each winning $18,149 in Wednesday night’s live Lotto draw, thanks to Second Division wins.

The winning tickets were both purchased through MyLotto, making Tauranga one of the few regions to score multiple wins in this draw.

In total, 23 players across the country won Second Division prizes, with one lucky Lower Hutt player also scooping up Powerball Second Division, boosting their total winnings to $48,170.

The Tauranga wins come as Lotto NZ encourages players to get in early ahead of draw day to avoid peak times both instore and online.

With jackpots continuing to climb, Lotto NZ reminds players that while the excitement builds, the odds of winning remain small.

Lotto NZ returns 100% of its profits to Kiwi communities through lottery grants programmes run by Te Puna Tahua NZ Lottery Grants Board — meaning every ticket sold helps support local initiatives.
