Christmas has come early for one Tauranga household after a tidy Lotto win.

A Tauranga MyLotto player was among six winners of Lotto’s second division last night.

They will share the $241,044 second-division pool, with each taking home $40,174.

The other winners were MyLotto players in Auckland, New Plymouth, Napier and Upper Hutt, and a ticket bought at Greymouth Lotto & Souvenirs.

Corporate Communications Manager, Sarah McCormack said this was an incredible win.

“Taking home $40,174 with Lotto Second Division is a fantastic boost as we head into summer and the festive season.

“It’s the perfect way to kick off the holidays.”

Lotto NZ exists to return 100% of its profits to Kiwi communities through lottery grants programmes run by Te Puna Tahua NZ Lottery Grants Board.

In yesterday’s draw, the Powerball jackpot up for grabs was $10 million, Lotto First Division was, and is always, $1 million, and Strike was $700,000.

A lucky player from Coopers Beach in Northland won $1 million with Lotto First Division.

Powerball rolled over to Saturday, where the jackpot will be $12 million, and Strike also rolled and will be $1 million on Saturday.

The winning numbers were: 9, 30, 40, 38, 24, and 3. Bonus ball was 34, and Powerball was 2.

What to do if you win

Anyone who bought their ticket from one of the above stores should check their ticket in store, on MyLotto, or through the MyLotto App.

Ticket-holders can see immediately if they have won if they purchased a ticket through MyLotto. Prizes of $1000 or less are automatically credited to the account.

For prizes exceeding $1000, winners must complete an online prize claim form.

Winners with a physical ticket must still visit a Lotto retailer to claim their prize.

For the Powerball jackpot to be claimed, a ticket-holder must get all six Lotto numbers plus the Powerball number.
