Houses in Welcome Bay Road and Kairua Road are being advised there will be an emergency water shutdown today.
Tauranga City Council reports the emergency shutdown will run from 12pm until 5 or 6pm while contractors make emergency repairs to a leaking water main on Welcome Bay Road.
The shutdown will affect all properties past R431 Welcome Bay Road that are connected to the Tauranga City Council water supply.
A water tanker is being stationed to supply water for Otepou Primary and will remain for the duration of the shutdown.
