The Tauranga City Council customer service centre is up and running after it was forced to close for an hour this morning due to a power outage.
TCC communications advisor Marcel Currin says the outage couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time with rates due this week.
'Staff were able to serve about 25 waiting customers but most transactions needed to wait until the systems came back on at 10.10am.”
Marcel says services should be back to normal for the rest of the day.
'We don't yet know what caused the power failure which only affected the Council buildings.”

Did someone overlook paying the power bill?

Not enough rates coming in to do that ... expect that to be fixed up early next year.
