A beer fountain and a skate park are among suggestions made at the Masonic Park coffee and cake day that will be considered in the design process for the future of the park.
The Masonic Park project team took note of what people said, and the blackboard suggestions were photographed, says Tauranga City Council communications adviser Natalie Palmer.
Blackboard suggestions were photographed before being cleared for the next lot.
"The next stage is coming out with a design for the park - that should be in the next month," says Natalie.
"People want to keep it nice and green, with a bit more shade and protection. They also want some sculpture or play equipment for children - like the elephant at the Auckland Zoo."
More than 250 people turned up for a lunchtime slice of cafe and a coffee, while they thought about what they wanted for the inner city green space.
"We got all ages from school pupils who were visiting the art gallery, people working in the city as well as people that came down specially."
