Downtown Mount resealing

Downtown Mount retailers are the next Tauranga City business sector to suffer some customer access issues because of roadworks.

Resealing starts this week on Maunganui Road between Banks Avenue and Pacific Avenue. The work will be done during the evenings to reduce the impact on businesses and traffic, but there will be some loss of daytime parking. The work is expected to take about six evenings to complete, depending on weather.
Work is also start this week upgrading Hull Road, the Totara Street roundabout and the Maunganui and Hull Road intersection. The intersection work includes a new left hand turn lane into Hull Road from Maunganui Road, and improvements to the kerb and channelling.
Depending on the weather, that project is expected to take about two months, with some of the work being done at night. Delays are likely at times and motorists are advised to use alternative routes if possible.
At nearby Central Parade the improvements there have reached the kerb and channel stage with work continuing on paving, planters, cycle stands and garden construction underway on both sides of Central Parade from both Heath and Dee Streets north. Minor traffic disruptions are likely there.
In other streetworks about town this week, some lane closures will be taking place at 15th Avenue and Fraser Street, as intersection improvements get under way there for the Hairini Link Advanced Works project.
In Bethlehem Township some roadside parking will be affected as road widening begins on the northern side of the state highway near Countdown.
In Otumoetai, the last phase of the reconstruction of the Vale street stormwater project between Hinewa Road and Landscape Road is underway.
Shoulder closures and lane diversions are possible alongside SH2 between Mangatawa Lane and Domain was work continues relocating the watermain alongside the highway.
Minor delays in peak traffic can also be expected at the Gravatt Road / Domain Road Intersection while work there is continuing, and there is more roadside watermain relocation underway between Tara Road and Bell road with a shoulder closure in place.

The council could save money by not doing any roadworks near people who don't want them. too bad about the potholes though.

Perhaps if someone outside of City Partners was on the job it would have been built properly ?
