Papamoa residents were left with low water pressure overnight after a faulty valve caused the pressure drop.
A Tauranga City Council spokesperson says the low pressure was caused by a fault with the Poplar Lane reservoir that supplies Papamoa.
The council directed water to Papamoa from another part of the system to allow the water pressure to return to normal.
This also allowed contractors time to get the Poplar Lane fault fixed as soon as they could.
