Tauranga Mayor Stuart Crosby is off to job interviews in Wellington.
He's on the committee interviewing applicants for the job as new chief executive officer of Local Government New Zealand.
Mayor Stuart Crosby.
The current CEO, Eugene Bowen, has resigned. He's had the job since 2003.
'We are just going through a process of finding a new one,” says Stuart.
'They went through the usual process.
'A larger number of applicants was shortlisted to four and that's who we are interviewing on Friday.”
LGNZ is made up of all the country's councils.
'They do advocacy work and research on behalf of councils,” says Stuart.
'I was appointed after being elected mayor this time to the national council of LGNZ – representing what we call the metro groups, the large councils of New Zealand.”

I thought when I read the headline thank God we will be rid of this turkey with any luck but no he is simply on the job selection panel- hope his efforts are a whole lot better than his efforts with ex CEO TOWN the non starter for the TCC job and the eventual selection of the current non event at TCC.Won't hold my breath though.

My heart went into "EXSTATIC" mode for a moment, that at last ... "it is gone ..." (LOTR - The return of the king). The damage perculates onward at many levels, the track record certainly leaves a lot to be desired on past local CEO's appointed so I doubt an improvement will occur in Weellingtoon, in fact going on the current state of affairs in Tauranga, Wellington has the same fate.
WE WISH IT WAS SO
