LIVE: Two Covid cases in Auckland Hospital

UPDATE: Two people who have tested positive for Covid-19 are in hospital today.

Director-General of Health Dr Ashely Bloomfied says there are zero new community Covid cases being reported today.

He says there are six in managed isolation.

"Two positive cases are in Auckland Hospital.

"One of today's cases are one of the cases in hospital. There is no indication as to whether this is Covid related or because of some other medical condition."

Bloomfield says both cases are in a stable conditon.

On Wednesday, 14,671 Covid tests were processed. Bloomfield says 7853 were across the Auckland region.

"This brings our seven-day rolling average to 9721."

Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield will today provide an update to the media about the latest Covid-19 numbers.

He will be live from the Ministry of Health building in Wellington from 1pm.

What we know to date

On Wednesday, there were no new Covid-19 cases to report in the community today.

There were two new Covid-19 cases to report in managed isolation, says the Ministry of Health.

One of these cases is historical and deemed not infectious.

Nine previously reported cases have now recovered.

The total number of active cases in New Zealand is 62.

The total number of confirmed cases is 2028.

The total number of tests processed by laboratories to date is 1,736,931.

On Tuesday, 16,019 tests were processed.

The seven-day rolling average up to yesterday is 8949 tests processed.
