It is snowing in the Bay of Plenty.
Reports are coming in of snow falling at the top of the Kaimai Ranges as an Antarctic blast hits New Zealand.
The chilly weather across the nation has already seen the Desert Road closed earlier today whilst there are also reports of snow in the Waioeka Gorge.
Waka Kotahi NZTA is advising road users to drive carefully across State Highway 2 between Opotiki and Gisborne because of the snowy and icy conditions.
It is also snowing in Mamaku.
The gigantic storm south east of NZ is working in tandem with a powerful high-pressure system near Tasmania to produce our cold change, say WeatherWatch.
The two powerful air pressure systems are dredging up polar air from Antarctica and directly into New Zealand.
