Facebook has suffered a major outage, along with Instagram and WhatsApp.
Users of the social media sites around the world appear to be affected.
Facebook said it was aware that some people were having trouble accessing company's apps and products.
Instagram, owned by Facebook, also stopped working and the company tweeted it was aware users were having issues.
The companies have not given a reason for the outages, though they follow many high-profile denial of service attacks around the world, including some that have hit banks and government agency sites in New Zealand.
User reports indicated problems with Twitter, Google and Amazon Web Services, according to Downdectector, which collects status information on websites and services.
We're aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We're working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

People will just have to communicate like they used to. Face to face or pick up the phone to discuss what was eaten for breakfast etc..
