City planning at its best

Why is it that they decide to do all these roadworks in the two weeks leading up to Christmas? Same thing happens every year.
LOL, cause it's raining and Xmas

@city planning at it's best, simple answer, because they are idiots. Never cease to amaze all these roading planners and their idiotic planning, it's been years and continuous roadworks leading up to and during Xmas holidays, they can always use Covid as an excuse although, Cameron Road is just as bad but with idiots contracted by Council doing their work, still more workers standing around doing nothing, especially not working. We should just let the roads go to rack and ruin, that will keep all these flash cars off the road cause they will get their paint work damaged, love it, I would so love to ride my horse to work LOL.

Let's be fair; some of this work can only be done when the weather is good. That is technically, a 4 month window, although we do much better than that in practice. If they did NO work, for say, 6 weeks over the holidays, they would lose HALF of their window. And then people would be complaining here and elsewhere about the shocking state of the roads...
