Emergency services have been called to an incident at the Port of Tauranga late on Sunday afternoon.
Police report that emergency services were advised around 4.30pm that someone had fallen from a boat at the port.
Police did not attend the incident, however two fire trucks and an ambulance responded.
'A person had fallen in the hold of the ship and we assisted in extricating that person from the hold,” says Fire and Emergency NZ Northern Shift Manager Paul Radden.
It is unknown at this stage whether the person has suffered injuries.
