Renowned golf legends Peter Fowler and Andre Sholtz will be among the field at the Waihi Golf Course in the much-anticipated 2024 Legends Pro-Am Tournament on Thursday, February 1.

A huge field of 48 professional golfers from Australia, USA, and New Zealand will play alongside a large number of keen local golfers in both individual and team competitions.

This Expol sponsored Legends Pro-Am one day tournament is offering local golfers and the public a rare opportunity to watch some real legends of the golfing world in action.

"The field includes Peter Fowler and Andre Stoltz who both have a large number of international victories to their credit," says Waihi Golf Club member Rodger Bagshaw.

Peter has won an impressive 20 times including the prestigious BMW International Open, and also has won a number of National Open titles.

"Andre Stoltz also has a genuine PGA title to his credit," says Rodger.

Rodger says the Expol Legends Pro-Am Tournament will get under way with a multi tee start at the Waihi golf Club on Thursday, February 1, at 9.30am.

"Members of the public are most welcome to come to see these golfers in action."

The following week on Wednesday, February 7, the Waihi Golf Club will be holding the Annual Buddy Day, starting from 8.30am.

"This is for anyone who would like to try and see if they would like to play golf, or perhaps a former player who wishes to see if they may like to return to the game," says Rodger.

"There is no cost, or age limit, and is open to young and old, and without any gender restrictions. Golf equipment will be available, along with some help and coaching if required.

"Do not miss this great opportunity for your chance of a free trial at the game that gives so much."
