Update, 7.50pm Due to a crash at Hauraki Road, State Highway 25 is closed, says an NZTA Waka Kotahi spokesperson.

"Expect delays and use an alternative route."

An alternative route is via Hauraki Rd, Piako Rd, then Bush Rd.

It is unknown at this stage if there are any injuries.

Earlier, 7.30pm: Emergency services are responding to a crash on State Highway 25 between Waitakaruru and Kopu.

NZTA Waka Kotahi say the crash is blocking the Orongo Road/SH25 intersection.

It is unknown at this stage if there are any injuries.

Motorists are advised to take care along this route and to expect delays.
