Waipuna Hospice is excited to launch “Waipuna Wares” - their budget friendly range of second-hand goods inside their Mount Maunganui store opening on August 29.
Found inside the MacDonald Street charity shop, customers will find budget-friendly clothing, shoes and linen.
Waipuna Hospice Charity Shops exist to help fund specialist palliative care to the terminally ill and bereaved in Tauranga and the Western Bay.
Although their goods are sold at second-hand prices, the need for lower-cost essentials has been made clear, especially over the past year as the impact of the cost-of-living crisis is severely felt by many.
“With the rising cost of living, many are struggling to buy clothing and essential household items,” says Jace Dowman, General Manager of Retail.
“Waipuna Wares will offer more affordable items to help our community and prolong the life of donated items.
"Our mission is to turn second-hand items into first-class care for the terminally ill and bereaved, and if we can do that while helping those in our community, even better.
"We are all about helping our community and are excited to see Waipuna Wares open its doors at the end of August.”
"The new bargain store aims not only to offer the community more affordable options but also to help reduce the amount that goes into landfills each year.
“Every year we spend a significant amount on sending items to landfill, and that doesn’t sit well with us, not just financially, but in terms of environmental impact.
"The more we can repurpose, the more we can help our community, and the more we can achieve with people's second-hand goods.”
All items will be $2. Customers can save money, help reduce waste, and help fund care for the terminally ill and bereaved in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty.
“Find a bargain, reduce waste, and help fund hospice care – it’s a win-win for everyone.”
Waipuna Wares will be open Thursday-Saturday, 10am-3pm at 35 MacDonald Street, Mount Maunganui, with plenty of free parking.
Waipuna Hospice is excited to announce the opening of “Waipuna Wares”.
