Have you ever strolled through our city and felt like you accidentally wandered onto the set of a beige paint commercial? I’m convinced there’s a secret meeting somewhere where our city planners gather to decide how many shades of “blah” we can fit into one concrete jungle neighbourhood.
I mean, who knew “dull grey” was a top contender for the Most Popular Colour Award? If our buildings were any more monochrome, I’d start mistaking them for giant concrete marshmallows.
Imagine if we injected a little creativity into our architecture. How about a polka-dotted building or a house painted like a giant slice of pizza? I can see it now: “Honey, let’s take the kids to see the Cheese Pizza House – perfect for family photos!”
Let’s rally together for a colourful revolution. I propose a citywide ‘Paint the Town’ day where residents can unleash their inner Van Gogh (minus the ear incident) and bring some much-needed pizzazz to our streets. After all, life is too short to live in a rainbow of beige.
Let’s make our city a little less boring and a lot more brilliant!
