Corban Buxton will represent Tauranga on the world stage, running the TCS London Marathon to raise funds for life-changing medical care for children.
On 27 April, the young athlete will compete in the iconic 42.2-kilometre race in support of Willing & Abel, a charity that provides medical treatment for children in remote and impoverished areas.
Corban’s connection to the charity runs deep, with its founder, Abi Estelle, now based in the Bay of Plenty, allowing him to run for the cause.
After already conquering the Auckland Marathon, Corban embraces this new challenge with a purpose far beyond personal achievement.
“This isn’t just about finishing a race,” Corban said in a press release. “Every step I take helps a child get the medical care they deserve.”
Willing & Abel bridges gaps where other organisations can’t, ensuring children with complex medical conditions receive the desperately needed treatment.
Corban’s marathon effort will raise awareness and essential funds for the charity’s work, directly impacting young lives.
His workplace, The Sign Smith, fully backs his mission, encouraging the local community to support his journey.
Donations and sponsorships will cover medical assistance for children while also funding Corban’s travel and race expenses.
Supporters can sponsor Corban’s run and even have their names or businesses represented in London.
Social media recognition offers further visibility for those keen to contribute to the cause.
