State Highway 25 is closed due to a slip across the road.

NZTA Waka Kotahi have reported that SH25 between Hikuai and Whangamata is closed in both directions.

"Due to a slip, SH25 is closed between Port Rd and September Rd," an NZTA spokesperson said.

"Follow directions of emergency services or delay your journey."

Motorists are advised to take Port Rd to Hetherington Rd to avoid the closure, as SH25 is reported to be open from the SH25 bypass north of Whangamata to Opoutere.
