A person is being taken to hospital after a car collided with a house in the Western Bay of Plenty.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Omanawa Rd at 8.45am.

A police spokesperson said one person has suffered moderate injuries.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said an ambulance was now taking one patient in a moderate condition to Tauranga Hospital.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand northern communications shift manager Lauren Sika said crews attended to help.

“The incident was a one car vs building. Fire crews were shortly sent back to their stations.”
