One person in a moderate condition has been transported to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 2 near Whakamārama in western Bay of Plenty.

“Emergency services received reports of a two-vehicle crash about 11am near the intersection of State Highway 2 and Apata Station Road,” police said.

“Police are attending. The road is not closed.”

“We have a crew there from the Ōmokoroa brigade and are assisting police,” Fire and Emergency NZ said.

Hato Hano St John responded with one ambulance.

“We assessed, treated, and transported one patient in a moderate condition to Tauranga hospital.”
