Tauranga Eastern Link users are being warned to prepare for upcoming delays.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi said work at the Pāpāmoa East Interchange would continue throughout October.
“To safely construct the bridge deck and barriers, overnight closures of the State Highway 2 (SH2) Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road are required,” said the roading agency.
“During these closures, traffic will be diverted via Te Puke Highway between 8pm and 5am.”
Closure details:
Thursday, October 9: Full closure
Thursday, October 16: Full closure
Wednesday, October 22: Eastbound closure only
Thursday, October 23: Westbound closure only
Closures will shift to the next night should weather prevent the work going ahead.
“To ensure people’s safety while the Pāpāmoa East Interchange bridge and barrier works are under way, SH2 will be closed between the Domain Road Interchange and the SH2/SH33 Paengaroa Roundabout,” said NZTA.
“A detour via Te Puke Highway will be in place for all vehicles.”
