One person has died after a crash in Morrinsville.
Police were called to the single-vehicle crash on Matuku Road at around 2.45am.
The person was found dead at the scene.
The road remains closed while the Serious Crash Unit conducts a scene examination.
Police said traffic management is in place and have advised motorists to avoid the area and expect delays.

Outside Taupo today, Ford ranger passed us on double yellow lines with upcoming bend.... oncoming traffic appeared from around the bend, forcing the oncoming vehicle off the road onto the shoulder and narrowly avoiding head-on.
We were driving the speed limit in heavy traffic - why do people do this?
