A Tauranga Lotto player is celebrating after winning $17,708 in Saturday night’s Lotto Second Division draw.

The winning ticket was purchased through MyLotto, making Tauranga one of 29 locations across the country where players struck Second Division luck.

While the big prizes went to Auckland and Westport – each scoring $500,000 with Lotto First Division – Tauranga locals still have reason to check their tickets. Powerball wasn’t struck and now jackpots to a massive $36 million for Wednesday night’s draw.

Other Second Division wins were spread from Whangārei to Te Anau, with one Hawke’s Bay player also taking home $55,178 after adding Powerball Second Division to their prize.

Lotto NZ is reminding players to get in early for Wednesday’s draw to avoid the rush, and to play responsibly: “It takes only one ticket to win.”
