The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) will perform in Tauranga on December 13 as part of its Summer Brass tour, a concert series featuring the orchestra’s Brass and Percussion sections.
The programme includes a mix of classical and festive works, ranging from Bach and Barber to holiday favourites.
Pieces on the line-up include Christopher Mowat’s vibrant arrangement of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, Samuel Barber’s haunting Mutations from Bach, and Henri Tomasi’s theatrical Fanfares Liturgiques.
The concert will also feature seasonal music such as Winter Wonderland, Sleigh Ride, Jingle Bells Swing-a-Ling-Ding, and Joy to the World.
The Summer Brass tour will visit Wellington, Paraparaumu, Whanganui, Napier, Rotorua and Hamilton between December 5 and 13.
Tickets and more information are available on the NZSO website.
