NZTA Waka Kotahi has announced the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Rd on State Highway 2 faces two overnight closures this week as work at the Pāpāmoa East Interchange continues.
The closures are required to allow workers to build a bridge deck and barriers, an agency spokesperson said.
As a result, all traffic will be diverted via Te Puke Highway between 8pm and 5am on Wednesday, November 19, and Thursday, November 20.
While the interchange bridge and barrier works are under way, and to ensure people’s safety, SH2 will be closed between Domain Rd Interchange and the SH2/SH33 Paengaroa Roundabout.

NZTA said the planned closures will shift to the next night should weather prevent the work from going ahead on the planned date.
