Two people were taken to Rotorua Hospital yesterday after a car crash in the city centre.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman told the Rotorua Daily Post it received a report of a crash at the intersection of Hinemoa and Fenton Sts in Rotorua at 4.28pm yesterday.
The spokesman said no one was trapped and it responded with two fire trucks and one operational support vehicle from Rotorua.
It assisted police and Hato Hone St John.
A Hato Hone St John spokesman said two patients were taken to Rotorua Hospital, one in a serious condition and one in a moderate condition.
A police spokeswoman said it was notified of the two-vehicle crash about 4.30pm.
The intersection was blocked and reopened about 6pm.
In Tauranga, emergency services responded to a single-vehicle crash last night.
A Fire and Emergency spokesman said a car hit a barrier on SH29A between Maungatapu Rd and Truman Lane in Tauranga.
It received the report at 6.03pm and sent two fire trucks, one from Tauranga and one from Mount Maunganui, to the scene.
No one was trapped and it assisted police and Hato Hone St John.
A Hato Hone St John spokesman said one patient was in a minor condition and was not taken to hospital.
A police spokeswoman said police were notified just after 6pm and responded to the scene.
