Tauranga City Council is urging small businesses that use oil pans to inspect that equipment and service where appropriate.
This comes after a pollution incident last week when there was discharge from a Greerton radiator shop overflowing into the stormwater drain. Preliminary reporting indicates this was due to a lack of routine maintenance. Once the problem was identified the shop owner was cooperative and with the help of a certified contractor the pollution was promptly cleaned up.
This information from Tauranga City Council's bulletin for the week beginning Monday October 12 published below.
