Tauranga City Councillor Hayden Evans returns to court today, Friday, to answer a drink driving charge.
He announced his intention to plead at a previous appearance, however, Community Magistrate Robyn Paterson declined jurisdiction because she knows Hayden.

At his appearance on January 14, Hayden said he would plead guilty to driving in Willow Street early on December 4 with an excess blood alcohol level of 139 milligrams of alcohol per litre of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams.
