Residents in Ohauiti and Poike are being advised of a planned water shutdown this week to allow for the decommissioning of a water main.
Tauranga City Council advises houses in Ohauiti Road from Kaimai Place to Lochinvar Place on the even numbered side, and from number 65 Ohauiti Road to Poike Road on the odd numbered side will be affected by the shutdown on Wednesday night.
There will also be some houses on the higher section of Corwen Avenue that will experience very low pressure.
The shutdown will go from 9pm until 3am on Thursday, November 27.
TCC advises the shutdown is required so that the water main that failed two weeks ago can be decommissioned.
A new 200mm valve is to be installed on the corner of Harrisfield Drive and Ohauiti Road, which will provide better security of supply for the future.
TCC says all excavation work will be carried out prior to the evening shutdown to limit noise. Affected customers will have a shutdown notice delivered to them.
Customers in Chapel Street, Cliff Road, Mission Street and Brown Street had a disruption to their water supply due to 100mm valve failing last week. Water was off from 4pm and was restored at 6:45pm.
