A section of Solomon Street, Judea is currently without water after a water main burst this afternoon.
Tauranga City Council communication advisor Marcel Currin says the emergency water shutdown is affecting residents between 95 to 125 Solomon St and water is likely remain off for three hours.
An emergency water supply for residents will be available from the hydrant outside 85 Solomon St.
Marcel also reminds Ohauiti Road residents the water shutdown scheduled to take place on November 27 is taking place tonight from 9pm to 3am. The previous shutdown was postponed due to predicted bad weather.
The areas affected will be Ohauiti Rd from Kaimai Place to Lochinvar Place on the even numbered side and from number 65 Ohauiti Rd to Poike Road on the odd numbered side.
There will also be some houses on the higher section of Corwen Avenue that will experience very low pressure.
Marcel says the water shutdown is needed so that a water main which failed two weeks ago can be decommissioned.
A new 200mm valve will be installed on the corner of Harrisfield Drive and Ohauiti Rd to give better security of supply for the future in that area.
