Welcome Bay and Papamoa residents are being advised there is no harm in the sudden appearance of a cloudy or 'milky' look to their water.
Tauranga City Council city partnership manager Meagan Holmes says the cloudy look is caused by air bubbles trapped in the water as a result of water main breaks and shutdowns to the bulk water network supplying these areas in the last few days.
'If customers fill a glass of water from the tap and let it stand for a few minutes, the water will clear from the bottom up,” says Meagan.
'The cloudy water caused by trapped air bubbles has been through the normal water treatment process so it is safe to drink as usual.”
Meagan says the water aeration is not related to the supply of water for Round 2 of the ENZED Round 2 of the ENZED V8 Jetsprint Championship series at ASB Baypark Stadium.

good timing by the inept Council again, if the promoters of the "brilliant idea" jet sprints, get tarnished by some for this nice bit of timing, and does not hold the event here again!!!!!.
