Waihi Beach residents have only days left to can enrol for the Waihi Beach Community Board by-election.
The roll closes on Monday February 10 prior to the election to be held the following day.
'Eligible electors who haven't enrolled or updated their details can do so up to and including Monday February 10, but they cannot enrol on the day of the by-election,” says Registrar of Electors for Coromandel Electorate, Lesley Christophers.
They will also need to contact the Electoral Officer Dale Ofsoske on 0800 922 822 to apply to cast a special vote, says Lesley.
Enrolment forms are available from any PostShop or can be downloaded from the elections website at www.elections.org.nz.
'People can also call 0800 36 76 56 if they have any enrolment queries and they can check their enrolment status at the elections website or on any roll at any PostShop, courthouse or public library.”
The Waihi Beach Community Board was already facing a by-election before the October 12 local body elections, with only three people standing for the four seats. The three candidates were duly elected, and a by-election for the last seat was announced.
The election is on February 11.
