A stand promoting the Coromandel as the 'best place to come live, work or play” this month's Auckland Homeshow Expo is being hailed a success.
The Thames Coromandel District Council ran the 'Opportunity Coromandel” stand at the expo, manned by chief executive David Hammond and staff.
The TCDC operated a stand at this month's Auckland Homeshow Expo to promote the Coromandel region.
This included members from the management, customer service, building, planning and communications teams, plus elected members who volunteered on the day.
Tens of thousands of people attended the annual event at the Greenlane Convention Centre.
David says as part of council's Economic Development strategy they are continuing to promote the Coromandel as the best place in the country to find the ultimate work-life balance.
'Of course it really isn't difficult to do because we know the Coromandel is such an amazing place.
'Our staff shared their own experiences of why they love living on the Coromandel, the lifestyle benefits and work opportunities”.
Feedback received over the five day event was extremely positive, with many Aucklanders saying they are considering moving to Coromandel for a better lifestyle or for business opportunities.
Along with an information brochure council also produced a promotional advert that showcased the region and featured interviews from four couples who recently moved to Coromandel.
'These four couples are just very real and wonderful examples of people who come to the Coromandel and embrace everything on offer.
'They all reflected the market we are trying to target to make the move to the Coromandel.
'Active retirees and young people who have started their own businesses or are looking for work, a lifestyle change or a better place to bring up their families,” says David.
Throughout the Expo staff recorded questions from people about moving or visiting the Coromandel which council will follow up on.
