The Thames Coromandel District Council is advising Whitianga locals of an emergency water shutdown currently taking place.

Water is being turned off to carry out urgent repair and affects properties on Cook Drive between Jackman to Mayfair Roads.

The TCDC estimates the water will be shut off for about an hour and locals will be notified once it is switched back on.
