The Thames Community Board has approved funding for a sealed access road to be constructed at popular reserve Waiomu Domain.

Funds were approved at this week's community board meeting and comes after a generous $10,000 donation from the Waiomu Domain Committee.

The Thames board has accepted the offer and unanimously approved to fund the remaining $21,112.64.

These funds will be sourced from Depreciation Reserves and the board was able to slot the work into the 2015 work programme.

The Thames board also requested work be undertaken once students return to school after summer to prevent any unnecessary disturbance over the holiday period.
