SH33 reopens after truck crash near Okere Falls

A section of SH33 in the Bay of Plenty is closed following a crash.

State Highway 33 in the Bay of Plenty is now open.

The road was closed earlier following a two-vehicle crash, involving a truck, near Okere Bridge about 8.40am, said police.

Rich Johns from Okere Falls Store said the truck was carrying a shipping container and had rolled near Taheke Rd.

He said a customer had shown him a photo of the rolled truck.

He said the road was now closed.

Hato Hone St John was notified of this crash on Okere Falls Road and SH33 at 8.37am, responding with one rapid response vehicle.

One patient was assessed and treated at the scene (minor condition, did not require transportation to hospital).
