Police are investigating a a “disorder-type incident” in Tauranga from overnight.

A SunLive reader reported around 15 police officers were seen on Faulker St in Gate Pā just before 8pm.

A police spokesperson said early indications suggest one or more people may have been hit by a car during the disturbance.

“One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“Inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
