Boobs on Bikes is over for 2011 with its Tauranga leg drawing about 3000 people, including about 40 protestors.
The event drew much public debate and this is continuing on SunLive and is spread across a range of articles each pertinent to a specific point.
This page is a contents page for these articles with links to each below.
Pictured: Protestors stalled the Boobs on Bikes procession at this pedestrian crossing by walking from one side to the other without break to prevent the vehicles from passing by.
Event organiser Steve Crow appreciated the efforts of these protestors and said they caused no problem for his procession.
'If people want to walk backwards across a pedestrian crossing it's no worry, we don't mind waiting, we've got all day – it gives people a better chance for a look.”
SunLive broke the news that Boobs on Bikes was coming to Tauranga on July 9 and since then has reported on the event's progression through the planning stages.
This included coverage of Tauranga City Councillor attempts to block the event and interviews with organiser Steve Crow.
The event has passed now and Steve Crow has indicated he is interested in holding the event in Tauranga again next year.

It was fantastic to see so many happy smiling people down on the strand earlier today at the BoB parade. Thousands of people all there to enjoy themselves and have a good time. As for the 40 protesters, thank you so very much for helping the parade last that little bit longer :-)
GOOD TIMES

End of the day the parade was a good laugh. I really enjoyed the entertainment offered by both the bare-chested ladies and by the efforts of the protestors. I hope it comes back next year and the protestors protest harder to improve the overall entertainment value of the event. Great value!

It seems incredibly stupid to block a pedestrian crossing in protest at this equally stupid parade. All that would happen is that the parade would stop for a time, thereby giving gawkers and strangely enough protesters a longer look. Makes you wonder really about both parties to this silly affair that has gained so much coverage probably due to the protests.
How about a FULL list of links?

The links provided do not cover ALL of the debate surrounding this event. ("Storm in a D cup" was one of my favourites :-))

May I take that any woman is free to walk down Devon Street or any other street in Tauranga, fully bare-chested, and not be prosecuted?

when will the media learn that they make a situation much worse with their advertising. Does "boobs on bikes" pay anything to the press?
