Tauranga City’s Mayor, councillors and chief executive are inviting the people of Tauranga to an evening of updates, insights and open conversation about the city.
This community event is being held at The Historic Village from 5.30pm-7pm on Thursday, October 30, and is an opportunity for people to hear directly from the city’s leaders about the key developments shaping Tauranga.
Topics to be covered include:
- Council’s priorities and commitment to delivering value-for-money
- the Western Bay’s Regional Deal with central Government
- the latest on Local Water Done Well
- a Q&A session with the Mayor and Councillors.
Mayor Mahé Drysdale said the event is about connection with the people of Tauranga and providing an update on where the city is heading.
“This is a chance for the Mayor and Councillors to update the community on key projects under way and share our priorities for the coming years, including a focus on making sure every ratepayer dollar is spent wisely,” said Drysdale.
He also emphasised the importance of collaboration and forward-thinking.
“Our Council is committed to being proactive and having these conversations on an ongoing basis.
“Our city’s future success depends on bold, balanced decision-making.
“It’s important that our community joins us on the journey, and that we hear directly from our people.”

Well at least they aren't pretending to have an event to get public feedback to just tell you what they are doing and ignore your input.
This ones honest, we're just going to tell you ALL the grand plans we intend on increasing your rates for event if you dont want any of it.
And your welcome.
